The faculty are responsible for assigning a grade to each student enrolled in a credit course. The grade is based on the student’s demonstrated proficiency as determined by the faculty member teaching the course. The following grading system is used at Northeast State Community College.
 

Grade  A: A mark assigned for work of highest quality
  B: A mark assigned for work of above average quality
  C: A mark assigned for work of satisfactory quality
  D: A mark assigned for work of minimum acceptable quality
  F: A mark assigned for work below minimum acceptable quality
  FA: A mark assigned for work below minimum acceptable quality and attendance minimums not met
  I: A mark meaning Incomplete Grade. Refer to NeSCC Policy 02:11:03 Recording and Removal of an Incomplete regarding the recording and removal of an “I”
  IP: A mark meaning In Progress which may be assigned in learning support courses
  S: A mark assigned which indicates work of acceptable quality
  N: A mark assigned which indicates work of unacceptable quality
  W: A mark assigned to indicate withdrawal from a course
  AU: A mark assigned to indicate an audit in a course
