Northeast State’s budget process is closely related to the strategic planning and continuous improvement process (See Tennessee Board of Regents Policy: Budget Control: 4:01:00:00). Requests for funds must be directly linked to one of the College’s goals or objectives for the planning cycle. Specific instructions relative to preparing budget requests are forwarded to budget managers during the fall semester of each year and additional information is provided in the spring semester, before the submission of the budget. Budget managers complete the strategic planning forms containing the next year’s proposed budget via the online Strategic Planning System. The forms are then reviewed and approved by the appropriate administrative supervisor. The unit heads present the budget to the president, the chief business officer, and other individuals as may be appointed by the president.
When the college-wide budget document is completed and the budget is approved by the governing board, it is made available electronically on Banner for the budget manager’s review.
