Chapter 4: Business & Administration

04:57:00   Telephone System

The college telephone system is designed to enable faculty and staff to conduct college-related business. Therefore, only business-related telephone calls should be made from the College telephone system. Telephone calls of a personal nature, local and long distance, made from the College during and after work should be restricted. In instances where it is necessary to make a long distance call from an institutional phone, the phone call should be charged to the employee’s personal telephone credit card or to another third party number.

All telephone charges, local and long distance, are charged back to each department and are reported to the budget manager as an allocation of expense on the department’s monthly budget report. Supervisors requiring additional information regarding matters relating to telephone usage may contact the Purchasing Department for assistance.
