Chapter 4: Business & Administration04:46:00 Requesting Services from the Office of Plant Operations
The Northeast State Community College Office of Plant Operations provides varied services to staff, faculty, and students that include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance repairs, moving and rearrangement of furniture, installation of new equipment, minor construction improvements, and various custodial services. The process for receiving these services is as follows:
- All routine or minor work order requests (i.e., bulb replacement, adjustment and monitoring of building/room temperature, or minor clean-up) can be reported to the Office of Plant Operations by phone or e-mail.
- Moving services are provided to all campus personnel by Plant Operations and includes the relocation of furniture, equipment, and office files within the main campus, as well as various off-campus sites. Plant Operations requires that the following guidelines be observed in order for timely and professional service to be provided:
- All requests for moving services must be submitted by a written maintenance request with approval from the department head and administrative supervisor before being submitted to the Office of Plant Operations.
- Plant Operations requires a minimum notice of five (5) working days for all moving services.
- All furniture (desks, bookcases, filing cabinets, etc.) must be emptied of contents.
- All typical office supplies are to be boxed and labeled appropriately with the room number destination.
- The initiator must make all prior arrangements in order for Plant Operations personnel to complete the request in a timely and professional manner.
- Renovation services are provided to all campus personnel by Plant Operations and include room refurbishment and minor space reconfiguration within the main campus as well as various off-campus sites. Plant Operations requires that the following guidelines be observed in order for timely and professional service to be provided:
- All requests for renovation services must be submitted by a written request with approval from the department head, administrative supervisor and the President before being submitted to the Office of Plant Operations.
- Room décor changes must have prior approval of the Furniture/Décor Committee and in some circumstances, the President’s approval may be required.
- The initiator must make all prior arrangements in order for Plant Operations personnel to complete the request in a timely and professional manner.
- A request of an emergency nature such as the loss of building services, water leaks, or any unsafe condition should be reported immediately by phone to the Office of Plant Operations. After hours, requests should be routed to the Office of Police.
