TBR Policy 4.01.05.50 Preventing and Reporting Fraud, Waste or Abuse

Policy

State law requires all public institutions of higher education to provide a means by which students, employees, or others may report suspected or known improper or dishonest acts. Northeast State Community College is strongly committed to preventing fraud, waste, and abuse from occurring within its facilities. Should you observe an employee engaging in any activity that you consider or suspect to be illegal, improper, or wasteful, you are strongly encouraged to report your concerns. Several options are available to all Northeast State employees, TBR employees, students, and others for reporting known or suspected fraud, waste, or abuse.

Reporting Options

You may report concerns:

• to your supervisor or department head or an official at your campus.
• in person at the College’s Internal Audit Department located in L201D in the Basler Library.
• by calling the College’s Internal Audit Department at 423.354.5286.
• by emailing the College’s Internal Audit Department at InternalAudit@northeaststate.edu.
• by calling the TBR Office of System-wide Internal Audit at 615.366.4441.
• to the TBR Office of System-wide Internal Audit website at tbr.edu/audit/staff or www.tbr.edu/audit/fraud-waste-or-abuse-reporting-form.
