Donate materials to the library?

The library will accept donated books and other materials from individuals and organizations. Criteria for adding these items to the collection will be the same as for items that are purchased. If an item is not added to the collection, it may be given back to the donor, given away or surplused. The library will not assess the value of donated items for tax purposes.

Suggest that the library purchase an item?

If you would like to suggest that the library purchase an item to add to the collections you can fill out a simple online form. Your suggestion will be evaluated according to our collection development policies. Usually, we evaluate items by examining their relevance to the instructional needs of the college, the currency of the item, availability of funds, and possible demand. Plaese note that this is a suggestion and not an official request.

Request a book from another area library?

The Northeast State Library shares a Library Catalog with ETSU. Through the Library catalog, patrons can request materials from ETSU by clicking on the "Request this title" link. Once a book is requested, the lending library will put the book on the courier van to be delivered to our library. When the book arrives at Northeast State, we will notify you that the item is available for you to pick-up and checkout.

Request a book or article I can't find in the catalog or databases?

If there is a book or article you need but cannot find in the Library Catalog or our online databases, you can request the item by using our Interlibrary Loan service. Once we receive the request, we contact other libraries in the United States and ask them to send the item to us. When the item arrives we will notify you to pick it up.
